From Besties to founders

We are Caro and Lucy, two Germans who became best friends. We met in 2024 through Entrepreneurs' Organization and bonded fast over one thing we had in common: we both wanted protein in our daily lives and we both hated the way it came.

One of us grew up in an Ironman family, where protein, recovery and performance were simply part of everyday life. The other spent years fighting IBS, unable to stomach the heavy, chalky whey shakes everyone swore by.

We wanted protein that felt like water. Clear, light, gentle on the gut, something you actually want to drink. It didn't exist. So in 2025, we built it.

"I have lived between two worlds since I was eighteen, moving back and forth between Germany and California, and for the last five years I have called Los Angeles home.

I earned my MBA and spent years in the Hollywood film industry as a producer. But behind the work, I was fighting my gut every single day. I am a vegetarian and I train daily, so clean, easily digestible protein matters to me more than most. Almost everything in the US is loaded with additives and artificial sweeteners, and having grown up with the quality of European food, my body could feel the difference. Years of those sweeteners and processed products are what triggered my IBS.

I went looking for a protein that was clean, light, and gentle enough for a sensitive gut. I couldn't find one anywhere. Then I discovered BLG, the protein that finally made sense for my body, and I met Lucy, who had been searching for the exact same thing.

Together we built NUR. For me it is personal: the clean, vegetarian-friendly protein I always needed and could never find. No additives, no bloat. The one I can finally trust with my body."

"I grew up in an Ironman family, where sport and nutrition were never a hobby but a way of life.

I studied business at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, earned my Master's, and spent several years in consulting before taking over a traditional German company as its CEO and owner. For three years I led a craft business, the only woman in a room of twenty men and I learned to hold my ground. I was proud of it, but it was never truly mine. It was never the thing I was meant to build.

My real passion was always fitness and nutrition. But every protein I tried left me bloated and inflamed, loaded with artificial sweeteners I didn't want in my body. The day I cut them out, I felt the difference. The problem was that almost every protein on the market is full of them, and on the days I trained hard I simply couldn't get the protein I needed.

I searched for a clean protein that actually worked. It didn't exist. Then I met Caro and together we built it: clear, light, no sweeteners, no bloat. NUR is my heart project. Having lived in California, is where I feel most at home and with NUR I finally get to do exactly what I was made to do."
